This poster has been illustrated to show stages of embryonic development featuring a woman of African heritage. Included are individual week by week illustrations of the embryo development from fertilisation to week 9 and the beginning of the embryo to foetus development. Further to this is implantation of the blastocyst and the uterus in cross section showing the blastocyst burrowing into the uterine wall called implantation, as well as gastrulation, a diagram of the embryo at seven weeks and trimesters of pregnancy.
